Jared Brzenski is a computational scientist with a background in education and high-performance computing.
After 13 years of teaching middle school math, he pursued a PhD in computational science, focusing on fluid-structure interactions, such as those found in artificial reefs and seaweed dynamics. He has optimized simulations on both CPUs and top-tier supercomputers, and improved GPU performance and I/O at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. His PhD work includes a highly efficient C++ solver for modeling internal tides in Monterey Bay. At Scripps Institution of Oceanography, he runs global climate simulations, models fish movement, analyzes ARO data, and manages oceanographic datasets.
